3 weeks to go - numbers

We now have 53 graduates, staff and guests coming along on Saturday 15th July. This includes Valerie Duckett, who is making the trip from Venezuela. There are another 8 people who, we hope, will make their ticket payments by the end of next week: Friday 30th June. Watch this space for the confirmed list of participants. I hope to post this on the blog next weekend.

The 20 year test

I'm off to Paris for the weekend. Will my unused "skills" in French keep me out of trouble? I'm not sure, so very grateful that my friend Joanne, who uses French every day at work for Atisreal, is accompanying me. I'll do an update on reunion numbers next weekend when I am back home again.
Deadline for receipt of ticket money - Friday 30th June

Could those still planning to come to the reunion, but who have not yet made payment for their ticket(s), please do so by Friday 30th June? (If you need details of how to make payment, please e-mail me at hazel_hall@hotmail.com.) Thank you :-)

My friend Flickr

I have been thinking about what will become of this web log after the event on July 15th. In particular, I would like to set up a system so that individuals can upload their photos for others to see themselves, rather than ask me to do it. (I want my Sundays back!) One solution is for us to have a private group on Flickr. This afternoon I registered a new Flickr group "20 years on". I haven't yet quite worked out how we'll manage this, but I think what I will need to do next is register each of us as individual members of the group with rights to post photographs online. (Registering everyone individually will be a bit of a pain, but less of one than my handling everyone's digital pictures.) After the reunion individuals can post their pictures online to a group "album", we can label them as a group, we can discuss them (if we want to) and I can grab the best ones for this web log. That's the idea, anyway... Perhaps there are some Flickr members in the group already who can confirm that this is all possible?

Creating coincidence

Jo Langdale e-mailed today to say that she was very surprised recently to bump into Liz Smith in a Tesco store in Cornwall. There was another odd coincidence earlier in the year when Dawn Sheridan and Carolyn Oxlee came face-to-face at a work event in Geneva.

One summer when we were still students I ran into Axia in Paris, and the year after we graduated Bryan Hollamby and I found one another in a departure lounge at Zurich Airport.

Perhaps if we waited long enough we'd all reconnect without the need for an organised reunion?
Greece (and possibly Italy) to add to the list

Bryan Hollamby, who is currently based in Greece is now definitely coming along on 15th July, so that means we can add another country to the list of places from which graduates are travelling for the reunion. I am also pleased to report that we now have contact details for Alex Peet (previoulsy noted as "lost"), and have pointed her in the direction of this blog to catch up on all the activity. Alex is currently based in Italy. So if she is able to make it, Italy will join our list too.
